Premier Hotels give back on Mandela Day

On Mandela Day, Saturday 18 July 2015, Premier Hotel Pretoria, Capital Hotel School trainees together with Rotary donated their time to feed and give back to the community of Saulsville and Leamogetswe Safety Home in West Pretoria.

"Throughout South Africa Premier Hotels & Resorts contributes greatly in supporting various communities and we are committed to community upliftment in the areas we operate in. We see great value in the work being done by Leamogetswe Safety Home and therefore decided to give back to this home in this years' 67 Minutes initiative." says Sean Verdon, Premier Hotel Pretoria General Manager.

The day started early morning with the team preparing to feed 120 children. As the day progressed media, partners, Premier Hotel Pretoria staff and their families fed 380 young hungry mouths by 3pm. Fun activities such as face painting also brought smiles to these underprivileged children.

The spirit of giving didn't stop there. Premier Hotel Pretoria donated an assortment of 368 pieces of bed linen, 130 towels, 50kg buckets of unused soaps and clothing. Hotel suppliers were also encouraged to participate in this initiative and donated non-perishable foods which will feed the home for a month. Additional donations included sports equipment and 200kg of Diversey soap powder.

Leamogetswe Safety Home aims to provide residential care (housing), food, education, health care and a safe environment to children who are in need of care.
