Walmart pairs its Voice Order function with Google Assistant
AdWeek reports that Walmart has expanded its Voice Order functionality with Google Assistant. The new function will allow Walmart customers to add groceries to their digital carts via the artificial intelligence-powered virtual assistant.
Walmart announced its voice-shopping partnership with Google in 2017, promising hundreds of thousands of items would eventually be available. By October, Walmart said two million products could be ordered via voice.
Amazon has enabled customers to use Alexa to build digital carts for products from Whole Foods since at least September 2018.
