FCJ condemns threats made against Potchefstroom Herald editor

The Forum of Community Journalists (FCJ) has expressed, in the strongest possible terms, its condemnation against the threats made against Potchefstroom Herald editor, Dustin Wetdewich.

In a statement, FCJ says that it had learned that Wetdewich approached a municipal worker from Potchefstroom for comment on a story. He refused to comment but has sent Wetdewich a screenshot showing Wetdewich holding his two children in his arms.

While the Hawks are currently investigating the individual in question, the FCJ said that it is concerned by the action and the intimidation displayed by the municipal worker - especially the implied threat against his two under-aged children.
