It has been a successful start to 2003 for the stable of Groundglass directors. Iain Campbell, Erica Brumage and Duncan Robson have worked with a number of local and international companies with a lot of work coming from the United Kingdom and Europe.
This boutique production house has just signed American director, Ryan Haidarian. Ryan has been directing for the past 11 years in the States and around the globe. He brings a vision of resolve and courage into all of his work, and has chosen South Africa as his new home because of its rich cultural history and passionate people. His reel is made up of a number of PSA’s, short films, commercials and documentaries which focus on people and the intricacies of their lives. Ryan describes the camera as an emotive story telling device and is looking forward to integrating his knowledge of film and creativity with the Groundglass team. Employing a unique and visually evocative angle to the filmmaking process, Ryan has been praised for his diversity of work and experimental technique by US magazine, American Cinematographer.
