Oasys for Free State shows

The exhibitions and events infrastructure company, Oasys Innovations, has made another strong appearance this year at the annual NAMPO Agricultural Trade Show and the Bloemfontein Show.

Few readers may know that NAMPO is one of the largest privately owned exhibitions in the world, and the largest show of agricultural machinery and livestock in the southern hemisphere. Both exhibitions have outdoor and indoor facilities, although the Bloemfontein show has a stronger commercial and retail orientation.

Together with the Bloemfontein Show, the two events draw more than 100,000 visitors every year, including many buyers from across the world. This year was no exception. The Free State is widely respected as an economic hub, not only because of its agricultural orientation, but also its mineral outputs and as a tourism destination. It is on record as one of the strongest growing provinces offering a good quality of life.

Patrick Cronning, Chief Operations Officer for Oasys Innovations says the company is a contractor for both shows. “Our company facilitates the floor plans, exhibitor service manual and delivers most of the infrastructure required by the organisers. This includes shell schemes for the stands, carpets, electricity connections, marquees; flooring, plants and whatever else may be required in the context of a turnkey service for a professional show. We are particularly proud of our activities in the Free State as we are the only exhibitions company that has been contracted as the preferred supplier to the NAMPO organiser for the last ten years to deliver on the total infrastructure.”

Cronning says the company has supplied and provided infrastructure to NAMPO international exhibitors from around the world. The company has worked in other markets, including countries such as Argentina, Italy, and Pakistan, as well as all over Africa, and is therefore well versed with global standards. “But there are few shows that can match the atmosphere in Bothaville and Bloemfontein. There is always a lot of competition amongst our 350 staff members as to who can go to the Free State, as these two shows have become part of our company history of memorable projects. This year we loaded furniture on three and a half loads of our 12 meter horse-and-trailer for delivery to exhibitors at the NAMPO show and installed about 2400 square meters of marquees, 8000 square meters of carpets and 3000 square meters of exhibition shell schemes."

Cronning says that, in terms of statistics, the Bloem Show has the same amount of infrastructure as NAMPO. However, due to the different nature of the two shows, much more ground needs to be covered at NAMPO as it deals with large outdoor agricultural equipment, compared to a variety of products at the Bloemfontein venue. Both exhibitions are growing from strength to strength with the organisers of each event continuously challenging opportunities for improvements.
