Scholarship opportunities at Business School's open day

Planning to study further is one of the most important choices you will ever make. But not everyone has the means to pay for tertiary studies. The Tertiary School in Business Administration (TSiBA) is a unique not-for-profit business school created to ignite opportunity by awarding full or part tuition scholarships for those having difficulty accessing tertiary studies due to financial or academic reasons.

TSiBA invests in all students by providing them with excellent academic programmes and growing their leadership and entrepreneurship skills. TSiBA believes in their students and wants them to succeed. A holistic approach to education incorporates practical projects as part of the curriculum which enables students to put textbook theory into practice so that they are well prepared for the working world when they graduate.

TSiBA was founded in 2004 with a mission to graduate entrepreneurial leaders who would Ignite Opportunity and social change in South Africa. TSiBA selects individuals with potential who are interested in leadership and entrepreneurship and who want to make a difference in their communities.

TSiBA raises funds for sponsorships and students are not required to pay back their tuition scholarships financially, but rather to Pay it Forward into their communities. TSiBA degree graduates leave with an accredited business degree, 95% chance of finding a job as well as the skill-set that enables them to successfully undertake advanced tertiary education or run their own businesses.

Juanitill Pettus, TSiBA's Recruitment Officer, says "at TSiBA campus open day we open the doors to the public so people can experience the campus first-hand, meet current students and alumni and speak to them about their experiences. We aim to provide potential students with more than just the regular details and information - we want to inspire learners to experience the wealth of opportunities that exist in the business world. TSiBA is looking for potential leaders and entrepreneurs that will take South Africa into the future and instigate socio-economic change and is encouraging all people with an interest in business to apply, especially if they want to use their education to benefit others."

"At TSiBA, students are given a second chance to catch up and learn basic academic skills which they may have missed in high school. You must take it seriously from day one as you can't afford to miss anything. TSiBA is different in that they provide great support like the mentorship programme which all help students do well in their studies" says Khwezi Jackson, a TSiBA 2015 Higher Certificate in Business Administration student.

TSiBA graduates are working at big organisations which include Oceana, Old Mutual, Sanlam, Curo and Prudential in various roles like Investment, Finance, Human Resources, Client Service and some have become entrepreneurs or are pursuing postgraduate studies. What makes the institution even more unique is their onsite career centre which works with students while they are studying and after they graduate to help them find employment.

To be accepted at TSiBA applicants need matric and can apply with a higher certificate or a degree level pass. Those who are older than 25 years can apply for recognition of prior learning. Applications for 2015 are now officially open and close on the 30th September 2015. For more information please contact Juanitill Pettus on 021 532 2750 or az.gro.abist@llitinauj on how you can apply, or visit www.tsiba.org.za
