Frogg is run by Tess Whitlie and I am a hardworking, independent, ideas-led, freelance WordPress website designer and a graduate of University Pretoria. I work with start-up enterprises, entrepreneurs, marketers as well as corporates, producing high standard, user friendly websites that are attractive and driven by bold creative thinking.
I graduated from University of Pretoria with a degree in Fine Art, having worked in both the Print and Advertising fields before going to university at a later age. This gives me a unique way of looking at layout and design which combined with my past experience in Advertising, I try to use to my advantage.
Why use a Freelancer?
Work produced by a freelance designer can be exactly what you would get from an Agency, but at a fraction of the price. Building up a relationship with a freelancer also means that the client would get quality service, often at hours when Agencies are closed. The direct contact means that there is no third party, who often confuses or misinterprets the message the client is trying to convey.
What is WordPress?
If you are looking at options for your website, for blogging or just a static website, I can fully recommend WordPress. WordPress is a publishing platform used for building websites and blogs. CNN, Playstation, New York Times Blogs, Ford and People Magazine, all use WordPress.
WordPress is an open source CMS (Content Management System) has been in operation since 2011 and powers "14.7% of the top million websites in the world"
It is WordPress' ease of use that propels it's praise by web designers, web developers and private users. In just one year, usage has increased from 8.5% to 14.7% of the top million website users.
Although WordPress was originally designed as a blogging platform, it has come a long way and has become a very comprehensive Content Management System, used to power business websites, classified ad sites, etc. It is a flexible, user friendly platform with many themes available to choose from as well as plugins to increase its functionality.
The possibilities are endless.
Inserting a blog on your website becomes easy, and is a wonderful tool for your online marketing strategy. Google loves WordPress due to its clean code and blogs increase your rankings! A win-win situation.
WordPress is open-source, meaning that you can alter and insert code, although it's strictly not necessary. It is also free, making it a cost effective solution for your website. The backend administrative panel is easy to use and navigate. The bonus here is that you don't have to be a rocket scientist to manage your own website, and no web designer can hold you to ransom.
Frogg installs WordPress for you, as well as a premium theme, and then makes the modifications on your website to give your website a unique appearance tailored towards your company branding and target market, by listening to what my clients want and what their needs are. I want your site to look good, because if it looks good, I look good and you look good.. Once done, the site is handed over to you, and you maintain it, or I can do it for you.
