The Prize joins Social, Environmental and Health & Safety in the Public Interest category.
The category was proposed by Epica’s communications officer Katia Chelpanova, who commented: “Previously this type of campaign fell within our Social category, but in the wake of the #MeToo movement and amid concerns about approaches to gender equity and identity around the world, I felt it was necessary to specifically highlight these issues.”
Gender Equity becomes the second new category to be introduced for this season’s Epica Awards after Creative Use of Data, announced earlier in the year.
The Epica Awards are open for entries until 1 November 2019, with an “early bird” discount until 31 August 2019.
