A molecule found in the brain can help treat jet lag

A study done on mice has revealed that a molecule found in the brain can help treat jet lag.

At high doses, VIP, a molecule that synchronises biological clock cells in the brain, knocks them out of synch, allowing them to reset quickly to a new light-dark cycle.

Researchers suggest the finding may help develop treatments for sleep problems brought on by cross-continental flying and work shifts.
