ELLE magazine has appointed Poppy Evans as fashion director, marking her rise from intern to the most influential fashion position in the local magazine industry in less than five years.
At 24, Evans is also the youngest fashion director in ELLE's history. She follows in the footsteps of Chris Viljoen, Jackie Burger (now the magazine's editor) and the late Sue Ferrier. As fashion director she heads up a team of six, including fashion editors Asanda Sizani and Tarryn Oppel, another new appointment.
