The Radio and Journalism category recognises young individuals under the age of 40 who are making a meaningful contribution to broadcasting, journalism and the wider media landscape.
Potgieter’s recognition highlights his contribution to radio and journalism, as well as his commitment to storytelling that informs, inspires and connects communities across central South Africa.
The South African 40 Under 40 Awards celebrate emerging leaders and influential young professionals across a range of industries. Within the media category, the awards recognise radio presenters, journalists, media entrepreneurs and content creators who are helping shape the future of the industry and amplify important voices.
“We are incredibly proud of Shandor and this outstanding recognition,” says Nick Efstathiou, CEO of Central Media Group. “His work consistently demonstrates the values we believe in – quality storytelling and a genuine dedication to serving communities. This award is a well-deserved milestone for Shandor and a credit to the team behind OFM.”
Anchen Lintvelt, OFM’s sales and marketing manager, says the recognition reflects Shandor’s role as an ambassador for both OFM and the region it serves. “This is an amazing award, and OFM as a brand is very proud to be associated with Shandor Potgieter. He is a true brand ambassador for OFM and central South Africa,” says Lintveldt.
Potgieter’s recognition at the South African 40 Under 40 Awards adds to his contribution to the media landscape and reflects OFM’s continued commitment to recognising and celebrating talent that makes an impact in the communities it serves.
