Stadio (Pty) Ltd is inviting applications for the position of: Lecturer: Creative Arts and Early Childhood Education Studies (ECES)

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Lecture and assess contact learning and distance learning students in the BEd Foundation Phase and Intermediate Phase Teaching programmes in the following modules.
  • Creative Arts (Visual Arts and Dramatic Arts)
  • Arts Education 1: Visual
  • Classroom Practice
  • Teaching Creative Arts
    2. Perform the role and responsibilities of the module coordinator (MC).
    3.Compile teaching, learning, and assessment materials.
    4. Use a learning management system independently and/or work collaboratively to develop and deliver modules.
    5. Participate in relevant programme, curriculum and material development.
    6.Carry out allocated internal moderation responsibilities.
    7. Carry out invigilation of venue-based assessments as reasonably required by the Registrar’s Office.
    8. Participate in school-based Teaching Practice assessments.
    9. Provide academic support to students.
  10.Complete all Quality Assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes.
  11. Participate in research and community engagement projects.
  12. Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management.
  13. Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with all policies and SOPs.
  14. Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.
  15. Fulfil functions on relevant committees, and in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management.
  16. Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.

Minimum requirements | Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor of Education Honours or equivalent qualification with relevant study in Foundation/ Intermediate Phase and Creative Arts (Visual Arts and/or Dramatic Arts).
  • At least three years of teaching and /or lecturing experience in the relevant phase/discipline.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.
  • Experience in curriculum and materials development.
  • Experience in online teaching and learning environments will be an advantage.


Requirements

  • Sound teaching and assessment skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational, time management, and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
  • High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to cope with change.
  • Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
